Anderson High Performing Arts Building, 1471 Ferry St., Anderson, CA 96022, (530) 945-9340

Director: Lizzie Stoxen Based on the classic tale by Roald Dahl, this family-friendly musical tells the tale of James and his grand adventure aboard a Giant Peach! Over forty of our area’s talented youth will bring this delightful story to life with toe-tapping tunes and brilliant costume work! James, a young boy orphaned when a rogue rhino escapes the zoo, is forced to live with his two aunts, who only care for him is as their “helper monkey slave”. But when James is commanded by his aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he encounters the mysterious Ladahlord, who provides James with a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach on that tree. One day it rolls down the hill, to the ocean, taking James on a grand adventure; one that leads James to befriend a group of larger-than-life insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean, facing hunger, sharks and plenty of struggles as they become a family in their own right and try to find their way home.
