Applicants have until 4PM Friday to submit an application to the board of the Gateway School District to represent area two. The seat became vacant after Chair Cherill Clifford resigned amid controversy over the hiring of a new Superintendent. The four members who are left tried unsuccessfully to appoint a new member last week. No vote was held on the two people who applied. If a new member is not appointed within 60 days, there will need to be a special election to fill the post.
