Orland Father Sentenced For DUI Crash That Injured His Young Son

A 32-year-Orland man has been given a jail sentence after his young son was injured in a crash while riding with his father. The CHP says Kevin Andrew Kirk had a blood alcohol level of .23% -nearly 3 times the legal limit- on December 19th and admitted he had been drinking before giving his 8-year-old son a ride on his motorcycle. The boy suffered a minor ankle injury in the crash. Kirk has been sentenced to 6 months in county jail. A 2 year prison sentence is suspended on condition of completing 5 years probation.
