RPD’s CIRT Team Helps Homeless Man On Path To Recovery

A success story has been shared by the Redding Police Crisis Intervention Response Team. A 55-year-old man named Charles has been homeless for 20 years, and has been the subject of many complaints due to illegally camping outside downtown businesses and being drunk. Last week he was sleeping in the doorway of a business when he was offered help, which he accepted. Mercy Hospital found he didn’t need medical attention. Good News Rescue Mission provided fresh clothing, Shasta School of Cosmetology provided a haircut, and shelter was provided by No Boundaries Transitional Housing. It’s hoped that this can be a new beginning for Charles. Some photos of his journey can be seen on the KQMS Facebook Page.
