Channel 9 May Go Off Air As Storms Continue To Dump Heavy Rain & Snow

A downed power line on Shasta Bally may knock KIXE Channel 9 off the air for a while, starting Friday. That’s when the emergency generator at the station’s transmitter is expected to run out of gas. Attempts to reach the location have been thwarted by heavy snow and poor visibility. It’s hoped that the PG&E line providing electricity to the location will be repaired by next Tuesday, but that’s uncertain. KIXE programming can still be accessed on Charter Cable and through streaming at kixe.org.
