Public Opinion Sought As County Continues Search For Replacement CEO

The contract with Shasta County Interim CEO Pat Minturn is about to expire, leaving county officials scrambling to find a replacement. Minturn, the former Public Works Director, delayed his retirement to temporarily perform the CEO duties after the resignation last Spring of Matt Pontes, who had been targeted by some members of the Board of Supervisors. Minturn was paid more than $24,000 a month to take the temporary job. The county has hired an executive recruitment firm to help find another CEO, and they’re also asking for community input on the desirable qualities and characteristics that would be found in the right person for the job.
