Some North State Communities Will Host National Night Out Events On Tuesday

All over the country Millions of people will lock their doors, turn on their porch lights, and go outside to meet their neighbors on Tuesday for the annual National Night Out. The idea is that when you know your neighbors and they know you, it’s more difficult for criminal activity to take place unnoticed. Since each neighborhood’s block party is their own affair, there are no set times, but the events generally run from around 6 or 6:30PM until around 9 O’clock. The City of Redding opts to celebrate National Night out in October when it’s a little cooler outside, but events are planned for other communities this Tuesday, including Anderson and Red Bluff. Anderson Police will host a party at Anderson River Park from 5PM to 9PM. They’ll hand out APD souvenirs, and give K9 demos, and food trucks will be on site. Anyone who wants to host their own block party can get help from detective Darren Mendoza at 378-6678. In Red Bluff, an event will be held at the Red Bluff Community Center from 5:30PM to 7:30PM, with several Tehama County law enforcement agencies represented.
