City Hosting Open Houses On Future Of Riverfront Property

The City of Redding wants help planning the future of its waterfront. A lot of concern was expressed by Redding residents when an offer was made by a private consortium that wanted to overhaul the area that includes the Civic Auditorium, the Rodeo Grounds and Turtle Bay. The City Council opted to hire a consultant to update the Riverfront Specific Plan. That won’t happen until early next year, and the completed plan is not expected until November of 2024. Community engagement is key to the development of the plan, and two open houses are set to begin the process right away. The first is Monday evening from 5:30PM to 6:30PM and the second is August 3rd, both in the Community Room at City Hall.
