Coroner ID’s Oregon Man Who Drown At Lake Shasta

A man who drowned at Lake Shasta over the weekend has been identified by the Coroner’s Office as 44-year-old Levi Harold Bond of Clackamas, Oregon. Bond was with a church group visiting the Hirz Bay area on the McCloud Arm of the lake Saturday afternoon when he fell into the water from a plastic pool-type flotation tube. He tried to get a grip on the tube but after going underwater a few times, he did not resurface. Other members of his group tried to rescue him from the murky waters but it was 5 to 7 minutes before they were able to find him and get him to shore. CPR was attempted, but he could not be revived. Bond’s family has been notified of his passing.
