Man Ordered To Stand Trial For Murder After Fatal Stabbing At Downtown Taco Bell

A man accused in the stabbing death of a fast food restaurant employee in Downtown Redding had a court appearance Monday. On the night of March 28th, 29-year-old Kevin James Richard Wrenne was outside taking a 10 minute break from his job at the Taco Bell on Market Street when he was stabbed multiple times. 55-year-old Brent Ray Close was arrested a few days later. There’s no known motive for the killing of Wrenne. At a preliminary hearing Monday Close was ordered to face charges including murder. He’s due for an arraignment on the 25th.
