Cal-Fire Burns 10 Acres Along I-5 To Prevent Future Fires

Cal-Fire has done an overnight prescribed burn at a place between Anderson and Cottonwood that experiences a lot of roadside fires. A 10-acre burn was set to began around Midnight and wrap up at around 7AM Tuesday morning on Cottonwood Hill alongside Interstate 5. Over the past decade that location has seen approximately 8 fires per year, some of them threatening homes on the hill or vehicles on the freeway. The top of the hill to the west of the freeway is the future home of the Northern California Veterans Museum.
