2 Arrested For Felony Arson After Fire Burns 10 Acres In Anderson

Two people have been arrested in connection to a fire Sunday afternoon behind the Safeway in Anderson. About 3 acres was burning in an open field of dry grass at around 1 O’clock when Anderson Fire Department arrived. The fire spread toward Interstate Five and the smoke caused some visibility problems before the fire was contained at almost 10 acres. Anderson Fire and Police investigated and learned that it was sparked at an illegal camp just south of Anderson Creek. 40-year-old Joshua Coble and 25-year-old Chantal Reddekopp were taken in for questioning. They both reportedly admitted that they had been fighting and burned each other’s belongings, and both fires spread out of their control and merged into the larger fire. Both were booked for felony arson.
