Authorities Report Seizing Over 5,400 Pounds Of Cannabis During Multi-Agency Raid

The Trinity County Sheriff’s Office reported Thursday on a series of major pot busts done in Southern Trinity County in the last few days of June. The multi-agency operation involved 34 search warrants served on 40 separate private parcels. Officials were prompted by illegal water diversions, pollution and illegal structures. State wildlife officials documented more than 70 environmental violations. A total of 84,850 growing cannabis plants were seized along with 5,419 pounds of processed bud. Several people were detained and interviewed, but then released pending the filing of charges.
