Shasta County may be in danger of a Covid surge. The transmission case rate is now 217 per 100,000, more than double what’s considered “high”. Hospitalizations have more than doubled in a week, now with 25 Covid patients in the hospital and 4 in the ICU. Frequent testing is highly recommended, especially for those who may be attending gatherings or traveling for the 4th of July weekend. Public health is offering “test to treat” on Breslauer Way, where one can be tested and, if positive, receive treatment at the same time. Appointments can be made at myturn.ca.gov.
