Two Juveniles Arrested After Fire Burns 2 Acres In North Redding

Two juveniles were arrested after a witnesses said they lit multiple fires in North Redding. At around 3 O’clock Tuesday afternoon Redding Fire Department responded to a vegetation fire near Lake Boulevard, St. Marks and Clay Street. The first arriving firefighters saw it was about a quarter acre, burning near the railroad tracks. A second alarm was called and the fire was contained at about two acres within 30 minutes. A fire investigator found evidence that multiple fires had been intentionally lit and they burned together. The witness was able to identify two juveniles. She said after she saw them, they threw rocks at her and threatened to kill her and her husband with a gun. Police caught up to the boys on Buckeye Terrace. One of them reportedly threatened to find and shoot the officers who took them into custody. They were both booked into Juvenile Hall.
