Two Supervisor Races Will Likely Be Decided In A Run-Off In November

It appears that the two contested Shasta County Board of Supervisor races will be decided in a run-off in November, and it’s now almost certain that the incumbents have swept the county-wide elected offices. In the District One Supervisors Race, political newcomer Kevin Crye shows 42.6%, compared to Redding Mayor Erin Resner, who has 48.4%, short of the 50% plus one vote needed to win outright. The other runoff also pits a political newcomer against a mayor. Chris Kelstrom with 36.5% is the strongest challenger to Baron Browning, who holds 43.7%. Meanwhile it appears that Judy Flores will still be School Superintendent, Stephanie Bridget will still be the District Attorney, Michael Johnson will win his first election as Sheriff, and the votes will continue to be tallied by Cathy Darling-Allen. These numbers represent 50,915 ballots. 1,152 ballots have yet to be processed. The next update will be next Monday.
