Shasta County Election Results

Shasta County incumbents are holding comfortable leads as of Wednesday morning. The only ballots that have been processed are those that arrived hand delivered or by mail prior to Tuesday. That’s less than 25,000 ballots. Each of the county offices need 50% plus one vote to win outright.
— For Shasta County Superintendent of Schools, Judy Flores leads Brian Caples by 59% to 41%
— County Clerk Cathy Darling-Allen has a comfortable 71% lead over Bob Holsinger’s 29%
— Sheriff Michael Johnson has 64% over John Greene’s 36%
— The tightest of the contested races is for District Attorney. Stephanie Bridgett holds the lead with 58% over Erik Jensen with 42%
The supervisors races seem so far to be headed for a November runoff, with 47% for Baron Browning in the District 5 race, followed by Chris Kelstrom with 35%. The District 1 race may be headed for a runoff because of a candidate who already dropped out. Erin Resner with more than 49% leads Kevin Crye, who has 41%, but dropout Kymberly Vollmers drew 10% despite her stepping down and endorsing Resner.
