Crews Will Resume Live Fire Training After Red Flag Conditions Expire

Training burns that had been planned for earlier in the week are now expected to take place Wednesday and Thursday at Ross Ranch north of Shasta College. Cal-Fire is planning a series of training burns, with plots as large as 50 by 100 feet. It’s part of a Wildland Fire Origin and Cause Investigation Class. It’s intended to sharpen the skills of fire department and law enforcement personnel. The red flag conditions had canceled the burns, but that warning is set to expire at 11AM Wednesday, so the burns will resume. Plenty of fire apparatus will be on scene to prevent the fires from getting out of hand.
