Teen Injured After Crashing Sedan Into School Bus In Corning

The driver of a Honda sedan suffered major injuries in a collision with a school bus in Corning Thursday afternoon. The crash happened at 1:45PM at the intersection of South Avenue and Kirkwood Road after the bus had stopped at the railroad tracks. There were 26 Orland High School students on the bus returning from a track meet. They were all apparently uninjured. The CHP says the driver of the Honda, 19-year-old Tyler Mitchell, suffered injuries including a broken leg. His passenger had minor injuries. Both were transported to Enloe Hospital in Chico.
