Man Allegedly Caught On Surveillance Video Charged With Burglary

An accused burglar in Lewiston was undone by technology. A number of burglaries were reported Wednesday in the Lewiston area, and deputies recovered surveillance video showing the suspect and the motorcycle he was riding. After the footage from a home on Goose Ranch Road was distributed on social media, tips began to come into the Sheriff’s Office. A CHP Officer tried to stop a motorcyclist matching the description near Highway 299 and Trinity Dam Boulevard, but the rider fled and abandoned the motorcycle. Eventually the suspect was identified as 32-year-old Nicholas Troehler of Red Bluff, and he was found during an area search and charged with burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle. Troehler is believed to be responsible for four burglaries, but the Sheriff’s Office says there are likely more, which can be reported to them at 623-8126.
