It was March of 2020 when the first COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Shasta County. A glimpse at the COVID-19 picture shows the same trend as last reported, which is sharply down. Shasta County Public Health reports 52 new cases in the past week, but the current number of known active cases is only 47. There are 11 Covid patients hospitalized, 2 of them in the ICU. Health officials caution that it’s still wise to wear a good fitting mask when traveling and when being exposed to travelers. The county’s new Coronavirus dashboard is at shastaready.org.
