New York Man Suffers Major Injuries After Crash On Highway 299

A man from Brooklyn, New York suffered the worst of it when his large pickup was struck by a small car in Trinity County. Saturday afternoon 19-year-old Katelyn Patten of Lewiston was driving a Toyota Camry with 19-year-old Jakab Lewis as a passenger. They were westbound on Highway 299 near Steel Bridge Road when patten allowed the car to cross over the center line and collide with an eastbound Ford F-350 pickup hauling a trailer driven by 26-year-old Giorgi Ambrolidze. The impact caused the Toyota’s engine and transmission to detach from the car. The Toyota then spun around and collided with the trailer. Ambrolidze was taken by helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Redding with major injuries. The two teenagers had minor complaints of pain.
