Shasta County & Redding Both Pass Resolutions Ending COVID-19 States Of Emergency

In separate actions both the Shasta County Board of Supervisors and the Redding City Council lifted the COVID-19 states of emergency Tuesday. The county resolution has been in effect since March of 2020 while the city enacted its resolution at around the same time. Both were terminated Tuesday with the county stating that individuals should be responsible for their own health care decisions, and they are asking the Governor to rescind his March 2020 statewide state of emergency. The city meantime says it believes the conditions that necessitated the state of emergency no longer exist and the order is terminated.
