Crews Report Flanagan Fire Is 90% Contained

A fire north of Redding on Friday was started by burning piles of debris that were lit by Cal-Fire and got out of control in the strong gusty winds. The Flanagan Fire at Walker Mine Road off Lake Boulevard burned 88 acres and forced evacuation orders for area residents. It’s 90% contained as of Monday morning. Cal-Fire and Shasta County fire crews are still on scene mopping up. Friday had been declared a “no burn” day for all areas of Shasta County.
