Local Healthcare CEO’s Agree With Current Public Health Measures

In light of a recent request by a group of Redding-area doctors for the Board of Supervisors to change direction in their Coronavirus containment policy, a joint statement has been released by the CEO’s of every hospital and most large community health clinics in Shasta County. They claim to represent the majority of over 400 Shasta County physicians. The statement makes it clear that, although the group of doctors who appeared before county supervisors are respected in their medical fields, they are a small minority in Shasta County’s medical community. The group of CEO’s say that the vast majority of medical professionals continue to support public health measures, including vaccinations and masks, as outlined by the CDC. They appeal to the community to get vaccinated, pointing out that more than 90% of locally hospitalized COVID-19 patients are unvaccinated.
