Woman Sentenced To 3 Years In Prison For Lighting Her Boyfriend On Fire

A Hayfork woman has been sentenced for setting her boyfriend on fire, leaving him with severe burns. The incident happened in March of 2020 at a location in Hayfork, with the victim suffering widespread burns all over his upper body. 55-year-old Tami Novak was arrested at the scene. When interviewed by the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office, Novak admitted to pouring lamp oil over the victim’s head before setting him ablaze. After spending the last two years in Trinity County Jail, Novak has been sentenced to 3 years in state prison.
