New COVID-19 Infections Remain High Even As County Sees A Decline In Cases

The total number of known Coronavirus cases in Shasta County is on the decline, at 504, but the daily rate remains high, with another 70 cases confirmed Thursday. There are 83 patients in the hospital with Covid, and 16 in the ICU. Vaccinated people are 12 times less likely to be hospitalized with Covid and 17 times less likely to die compared to the unvaccinated. Vaccinations are available for free at many locations.
