Another 270 Coronavirus cases were confirmed in Shasta County over the weekend. There are 565 known active cases in Shasta County but the actual number is believed to be much higher. There are 73 patients in the hospital with Covid and 13 in the ICU. Shasta County’s case rate is 406 per 100,000 residents. Public health says 100 is considered high. Mask guidance is changing Tuesday, with masks no longer required in most settings, but still recommended. At the end of the month, California’s Health and Human Services Secretary will reconsider mask requirements in schools. Vaccinations are available for free at many locations.
