Fire prevention is the most important issue at this year’s Sierra-Cascade Logging Conference. The annual forest products and construction equipment exposition is in it’s 73rd year, and a lot of understory has been allowed to build up over the decades. A lot of people agree that our forests suffer from mismanagement. What’s not agreed upon is how to define mismanagement. Some very big equipment is on display at the conference, with deals worth Millions of Dollars taking place, and a lot of informational seminars and panel discussions for industry insiders.
