When Anderson Police took a wanted man into custody Tuesday, they were a bit surprised to suddenly be in custody of his unconventional pet as well. First reported as a possible drunk driver on Highway 273, 29-year-old Tuler Watson pulled into the Power Market on Briggs Street, where officers contacted him. He passed a sobriety check, but he had a felony warrant out of Lassen County, so he was arrested. That’s when he told officers that he had a live Alligator on the floorboard of his car. Alligator possession is illegal. Watson said he was holding it for a friend who’s in jail. The young gator was turned over to a State Fish and Wildlife Warden.
