Cal-Fire Plans To Torch 200 Acres Near Platina

Smoke will likely be seen Wednesday rising from the Platina area as Cal-Fire is planning to do a prescribed burn. They’ll be torching about 200 acres on the north side of Platina Road on the Graves Ranch, about a one mile northeast of last week’s prescribed burn on the Williams Ranch. The burn is intended to increase public safety by reducing dead and downed fuels that can feed wildfires, as well as improve wildlife habitat and grazing areas. Smoke will be visible from as far away as Redding, and will linger for a few days.
