Shasta Lake City has gotten a boost to their revitalization plans. The California Strategic Growth Council has awarded a grant of $16.5 Million toward the $35.5 Million project. What city planners envision is 49 units of affordable housing and 7500 square feet of commercial space along both sides of Shasta Dam Boulevard, along with transit, pedestrian and bike improvements. The project is being designed by K2 Development, which is largely responsible for the facelift of the Market Street area in Downtown Redding. Attached to the Shasta Lake City project will be a new Win River hotel and commercial center being built by Redding Rancheria.
