Concord Man Who Kidnapped Oregon Woman Has Jail Term Suspended

A Bay Area man arrested by Corning Police last year for kidnapping has been given a suspended prison sentence. Last April, Tehama County dispatchers got a 9-1-1 text from an Oregon woman saying she had been abducted by her ex-boyfriend and was being taken against her will southbound on Interstate 5 in an RV with Oregon plates. Dispatch pinged the location of the cell phone to Prairie View Court in Red Bluff. A “Be On The Lookout” was sent to area law enforcement and a Corning Police Officer got onto the freeway and spotted the RV just as it was heading into Glenn County. The woman was found inside uninjured and 48-year-old Christopher Hildebrand of Concord was arrested for kidnapping and false imprisonment. He had spent much of the drive telling the victim how he was going to hurt her and teach her a lesson. He’s been sentenced to 6 months in jail and a 2 year prison sentence that’s suspended on condition of two years formal probation.
