Pony Struck And Killed By Vehicle Near West Cottonwood School

A pony was apparently killed in a collision in Cottonwood overnight. Shortly after 4AM two ponies, a beige one and a black one, had been seen running westbound on Gas Point Road near Holiday Market and the ball fields. A vehicle hit one of the ponies on Gas Point Road and pushed it up against a fence at West Cottonwood School. County roads department personnel expedited a crew to retrieve the dead pony well before students would start arriving. The sheriff’s office was trying to determine the owner of the ponies so the surviving one can be returned to it’s pasture.
