SCSO: K9 Helps Deputies Arrest Woman Accused Of Breaking Into Church On Christmas Eve

A K9 was used to apprehend a woman who allegedly broke into a church in Millville on Christmas Eve. At around 1:30PM Friday afternoon a burglar alarm brought Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputies to the Baptist Church in Millville. They arrived to find the front glass double doors had been pried open and were standing ajar. They looked inside and saw a woman, who also saw them and took off running further into the church. The building was surrounded with help from the CHP and Cal-Fire, and PA announcements were made ordering the person to come out. As deputies began searching, they found the interior was covered in white dust from a fire extinguisher. The woman was found sitting in the chapel and deputies ordered her to the floor. When she ignored them, Fritz the K9 was sent after her. After a trip to a hospital, 24-year-old Shayla Adkins was booked into jail.
