RPD: Intoxicated Bay Area Man Arrested After Threatening To Stab People

A man from San Rafael was arrested Saturday afternoon after reports that he was trying to stab people in Downtown Redding. Calls were first received from LuLu’s Restaurant that a man wearing a multi-colored shirt and Santa hat was brandishing a knife at customers. Reports then came in that he was at across the street in the Safeway parking lot following people and trying to stab them. When Redding Police arrived they found 45-year-old Adam Culbreth standing near the Safeway loading dock. He reportedly ignored the officers and started walking away, then sat on the ground and started drinking from a bottle of booze. Officers prepared to use less lethal devices against Culbreth, but eventually he was taken into custody without further incident.
