Homeless Woman Arrested For Arson After Allegedly Starting Planter Box On Fire

A homeless woman was arrested for intentionally starting a fire on the front of a Redding business Thursday. Shortly after 9AM, Redding Fire Department was called to a report of a structure fire at the strip mall just south of the Holiday Inn on Hilltop Drive. They found a fire burning in a planter box and quickly extinguished it. A Redding Fire investigator contacted 35-year-old Marie Thomas Graham at the scene. She reportedly admitted to starting the fire on purpose, and she was booked into jail for arson. There was no damage to the building.
