CHP: Rock Quarry Workers Build Dam To Slow Biodiesel Spill

The CHP has released details about a fuel spill on Highway 299 in Trinity County Monday morning. At 9:35AM a Kenworth semi hauling a tanker trailer containing 7100 gallons of Biodiesel from SST Oil in Redding hit the embankment and rolled over onto its side at the bottom of Oregon Mountain Summit west of Weaverville Monday. The Biodiesel fuel was running down a roadside ditch until a crew from a nearby rock quarry used heavy equipment to build a temporary dam, preventing the fuel from reaching any waterways. The driver, 25-year-old Wyatt Landreth of Palo Cedro, was transported to trinity hospital with minor injuries.
