Sheriff’s Office Leads Multi-Agency Effort To Bust Illegal Pot Grows

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office has been busy carrying out their new initiative to eradicate illegal cannabis cultivation. Last week a raid off Two Feathers Road west of Cottonwood led to the destruction of 6,186 plants, as well as 20 pounds of processed bud. No people were there. Other raids over the past month include one in Shingletown that yielded 3,731 plants and one in Fall River Mills with 1,816 plants and 272 pounds of processed bud. There were also 8 properties searched in Southeast Shasta County, where more than 5,000 plants were destroyed and 4 people detained. Other agencies that helped include Redding and Anderson Police, the Shasta County DA’s Office, SINTF, Code Enforcement, the CHP, State Fish and Wildlife and the Calcannabis.
