RPD Deploys Armored Vehicle After Shooting In North Redding

A man was arrested for a shooting incident that locked down a North Redding neighborhood on Saturday afternoon. Just before 5:30PM, a Code Red Emergency Alert was activated as the RPD responded with their armored vehicle to a report of someone firing an AR style semi-auto rifle at the Northpoint Apartment Complex on Baywood Drive. As officers learned more about the incident, they figured out that a resident had confronted 37-year-old Adam Garrett Parsons for loitering and asked him to leave. Parsons allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired it into the ground, then fled over a fence toward Lake Boulevard. Another resident, Shaun Dobbs, heard the shot and came out of his apartment armed with his AR rifle, but did not fire it. Parsons was eventually apprehended near the end of St. Patricks Avenue.
