Sifting Kits Will Be Available Thursday For Fawn Fire Victims

As residents return to their burned properties, it’s important that they protect themselves from the toxic substances contained in the ashes. Sifting kits and personal protective equipment will be available at the corner of Old Oregon Trail and Bear Mountain Road near Tierra Oaks Thursday from 9AM to 4PM. The sheriff’s office is warning that as people recover salvageable items from their the remains of their homes, removing fire debris from the footprint of the home’s foundation may make them ineligible for debris removal assistance from the government.
