Update: Most Fawn Fire Evacuation Orders Downgraded To Warnings

Some residents are being allowed to return to areas damaged by the Fawn Fire. As of 9AM Tuesday most evacuation orders were downgraded to warnings, but only residents will be allowed in to the areas under evacuation warning. The only mandatory evacuation still in effect is for areas north of Clikapudi Creek west from Wildcat Canyon and south from Juniper Drive. Cal-Fire is reporting that 185 structures have been lost and another 26 were damaged in the fire. 1,269 structures remain threatened. Monday afternoon Cal-Fire reported that forward progress had been stopped, and the fire is now 65% contained after burning 8577 acres. According to the latest damage assessments, destruction is centered along both sides of Old Oregon Trail between Bear Mountain Road and Sunrise Drive. A map has been released with information showing where homes were damaged or destroyed in the fire.
