DA To Host Press Conference After Woman Is Arrested For Starting The Fawn Fire

A woman is in custody accused of starting the Fawn Fire. At around 8 O’clock Wednesday night as firefighters were hiking into the fire behind the Mountain Gate Quarry, they were approached by 30-year-old Alexandra Souverneva of Palo Alto. She told them she was dehydrated and needed medical attention. She was taken from the scene of the fire and given aid, then questioned and eventually arrested. She remains in jail on $100,000 bail, charged with arson of structures and forestland. At a press conference later Friday morning District Attorney Stephanie Bridgett will provide more details about Souverneva and the charges against her.
