Red Bluff Police Officers Arrest Two Men On Weapons Charges

A dispute between two men at a Red Bluff gas station resulted in illegal gun charges for both of them. Wednesday afternoon Red Bluff Police were called to the AM/PM on South Main Street on reports that a man with a gun in his waistband was in a confrontation with another man at the gas pumps. The armed man was seen running across the street towards Walgreens. At the same time there were reports of a man at the AM/PM in a black BMW getting a rifle from his trunk, loading it, and then leaving towards Luther Road. Multiple police agencies responded and an officer saw the first suspect on Kimball Road running with a gun. He jumped a fence and entered extra self storage. A perimeter was set up and 19-year-old Hipolito Hernandez was found walking on Spyglass Drive. He was found to have a felony no-bail warrant for possession of a short barreled gun, and he reportedly admitted he had ditched a gun on the roof of the storage facility. A loaded 9 millimeter Glock with no serial number was found there. A while later an officer saw the black BMW and tried to stop it but the driver did not yield to the lights and siren. 29-year-old Kenneth Schoeb finally stopped on Aloha Street and was arrested. He had an assault rifle with a high capacity magazine. He later led officers to a location off Monroe Avenue near Highway 36 where he had hidden another assault rifle underneath some leaves. Both men were booked into jail on various charges.
