Fires Burning In The Klamath National Forest Have Burned Over 200,000 Acres

The River Complex in Klamath National Forest started as more than a dozen lightning fires on July 30th. There are now three main fires that total more than 106,100 acres, with 23% containment. An evacuation order is in effect for Cecilville, Summerville, Petersburg and Coffee Creek.

The Antelope Fire is another Klamath lightning fire. It’s burning in the Antelope Creek Drainage, now around 71,500 acres with containment of 60%. Evacuation orders remain in effect for Duck Lake, but most other orders have been reduced to warnings.

The McCash Fire in the Marble Mountain Wilderness in the area of Ten Bear Mountain and McCash Creek has now burned more than 36,500 acres with 1% containment.
