2 Deaths, 318 New Cases Of COVID-19 Reported In Shasta County

Shasta County’s Covid surge is causing some businesses to reinstate mask requirements, and schools are stretched thin for staffing. Another 318 cases were reported from the weekend and two more men have died. There are 85 Covid patients in the hospital and 23 of them in the ICU. The daily case rate has shot up to 54 per 100,000 residents.

Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine has received full FDA approval, but no vaccine has been approved for children under 12. Other treatments, such as the de-wormer Ivermectin, are ineffective against Covid and potentially harmful. A number of Covid infections in Shasta County have been vaccinated people, but they represent only a tiny fraction of the deaths and hospitalizations. Testing and vaccinations are free, with many options at shastaready.org.
