Fires In The Klamath National Forest Grow To Over 100,000 Acres

There are more than a dozen lightning fires that make up the River Complex in Klamath National Forest, totaling more than 44,117 acres with 10% containment. One of the incidents, the Haypress Fire, has burned into Trinity County and the Coffee Creek area. An evacuation order is in effect for Cecilville, Summerville, Petersburg and Coffee Creek. A warning has been issued for Sawyers Bar.

The Antelope Fire is raging in the Antelope Creek Drainage, now at 55,500 acres with 27% containment. An evacuation order is in effect for many areas, now including Medicine Lake and Old State Highway, as well as Sharp Mountain, Wild Horse, Garner Butte, Three Sisters, Mount Hebron, Shasta Wood, Duck Lake, Round Valley and Long Prairie.
