Detectives Say Woman Fatally Stabbed Man At Shasta Lake Boat Launch

A woman is accused of murdering a friend at Lake Shasta on Sunday morning. At 10:24AM, deputies were sent to the Centimudi Boat Launch on reports of a stabbing. While en route, they came across 48-year-old Janet Paulene Wilson walking nearby with blood on her clothes. When they arrived at the boat ramp they found 70-year-old Phillip Thomas Ramsell suffering from multiple stab wounds. Medical personnel provided first aid, but Ramsell was declared dead at the scene. Detectives say that Ramsell and Wilson, both residents of Shasta Lake City, had gone to the lake together that morning and some sort of altercation led to the stabbing. Wilson was booked into jail for murder. Anyone with information that can shed light on the investigation is asked to call the Major Crimes Unit at 245-6135.
