44 People Hospitalized With COVID-19 In Shasta County

Shasta County’s Covid surge continues, mostly among unvaccinated people. Another 81 cases were reported Wednesday, and 44 people are hospitalized with the virus. Shasta County Public Health wants to dispel the belief that the vaccines are not effective. They point out that one in 64,202 vaccinated people in the county have died, while 1 in every 7,113 unvaccinated people have died. Also, vaccinated people are much less likely to get seriously ill. Testing is done at the Boggs Building on Breslauer Way in South Redding Monday through Friday from 9:30AM to 5:30PM. A vaccine clinic is open at the Redding Senior Center on Benton Drive each Friday through Sunday from 10AM to 7PM, with other options available at myturn.ca.gov.
