Redding Police cleared a lot of material from homeless camps last week. The RPC Community Work Program, using inmate labor from the Shasta County Sheriff’s Alternative Work Program, picked up a total of 29,000 pounds of trash, abandoned belongings and camping gear from Henderson Open Space and the Churn Creek waterway north of the Old Alturas/Victor Avenue intersection. Some of the campers found in the areas helped with the cleanup.
